Terms & Conditions — Aldebaran Labs

These Terms & Conditions apply to all applications published by Aldebaran Labs, including Thesis Planner, Kitchen Calculator, and FAR Pilot AI. By downloading or using any of our apps, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using any Aldebaran Labs application, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our apps.

2. License

Aldebaran Labs grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our apps for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:

Copy, modify, or distribute any part of our apps
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
Use our apps for any unlawful purpose
Transfer your license to another person

3. Purchases & Payments

Our apps use different purchase models depending on the app:

Subscription-based apps (e.g. Thesis Planner, FAR Pilot AI)

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) through your Apple ID.
A free trial period may be offered. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged for the subscription.
Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your iPhone Settings under Apple ID → Subscriptions.
No refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by law.

One-time purchase apps (e.g. Kitchen Calculator)

Some apps are available as a one-time purchase through the App Store.
A one-time purchase grants you a permanent license to use the app on your devices.
Refund requests for one-time purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

All payments are processed by Apple. Aldebaran Labs does not have access to your payment information.

4. User Content

Any content you create within our apps (such as notes, chapters, lists, or measurements) belongs to you. We do not access, collect, or store your content on our servers. All data remains on your device.

5. FAR Pilot AI — Regulatory Information Disclaimer

FAR Pilot AI provides Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) content for reference and educational purposes only. It is not an official FAA publication and should not be used as a substitute for official FAA sources.

Always verify regulatory information against official FAA publications before making any flight decisions.
AI-generated answers are provided for general guidance only and may not reflect the most current regulatory amendments.
Aldebaran Labs is not responsible for any flight decisions, safety outcomes, or legal consequences arising from use of this app.
The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our apps are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

The apps will be error-free or uninterrupted
Any errors will be corrected
The apps will meet your specific requirements

Use of our apps is at your own risk.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aldebaran Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our apps, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and assets within our apps are the property of Aldebaran Labs and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of our apps without prior written permission.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by applicable law. Depending on your location, the following jurisdictions may apply:

Users in the United States are subject to the laws of the State of California, USA.
Users in the United Kingdom are subject to the laws of England and Wales.
Users in Switzerland are subject to the laws of Switzerland.
For all other users, the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside shall apply.
